BCFE HND Illustration Exhibition at Ballyfermot Library
Between now and Thursday, the HND Illustration students from BCFE are showcasing some of the work that has been accomplished since the start of the year. The first year students are exhibiting their artist trading cards, which were developed as a piece of art that could be traded between artists that shows their own style and area of interest. They are also displaying a selected number of their “inktober” illustrations, which were developed as part of an online challenge that takes place every year in October. This internet challenge helps artists gain recognition online and develop a following. The second year students are exhibiting reportage illustration work developed over three days on location drawing in the Botanical Gardens. Each student chose a specific area within the botanical gardens and focused their drawings within that area. This created different results and styles for each student and also covered multiple areas in the botanical gardens. The second year students also created a cover for The New Yorker magazine to celebrate the anniversary of the original cover depicting Eustace Tilley. These covers were created with the original cover in mind and took on a parodic aspect.
