Irish Book Awards

3 BCFE graduates shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards

3 BCFE’s graduates are involved in the illustration and graphic production of books who have been shortlisted for the An Post Irish Book Awards.
 
Robert Vaughan (AIH 2011-2013) is a wildlife illustrator and has worked on ‘An Irish Nature Year’ written by Jane Powers.  This book is shortlisted for the “Best Irish Published Book of the Year”
Karen Vaughan (AIH 2008-2010) has illustrated ‘Savage her Reply’, written by Deirdre Sullivan.  This is the second book by Karen and Deirdre.  This book is shortlisted for the “Teen/Young Adult Book of the Year”.   Their last publication ‘Tangleweed and Brine’ won The Young Adult Book of The Year at the same event in 2018. In the same year, it also won Book of The Year at The Children’s Books Ireland Awards and in 2017, they achieved The Irish Times Ticket Readers’ Choice for Best Young Adult Fiction.
Rachel Corcoran (AGH 2009-2011) participated in the collaborative publication called ‘Girls Play Too: Inspiring Stories of Irish Sportswomen’ which is nominated for the awards.  This book is shortlisted for the “Childrens Book of the Year (Senior)”
Votes have been submitted and winners will be announced on November 25th. The overall Irish Book of the Year winner will be revealed on December 10th on RTÉ One as part of a highlights show. All voters will be entered into a prize draw to win one of five €100 National Book Tokens vouchers.
